Volunteer With Us
Are you interested in helping to create the first and only comprehensive documentary archive of traditional performance in Malaysia? Are you looking to engage with, and learn more about, the diverse cultures and traditions of your country? Would you like to create access and information around international traditions, cultures, and ideas, locally? If so, you have come to the right place!
Pusaka’s volunteers are key players in its efforts to preserve traditions and promote cultural awareness in Malaysia. Our volunteers have a chance to interact, first hand, with both national and international performers, and learn from experts in the field of tradition, culture, heritage. Here’s how you can get involved:
Volunteer Your Skills
- Pusaka is in need of talented photographers who can help us cover our community engagement projects
- We are always on the look out for writers and translators interested in culture, the arts, and literature who can help with research, documentation, archival, and translation
Volunteer Your Time
Being a small team, we are typically all-hands-on-deck, and need help coordinating with our local partners, and organizing logistics for our events. We need Malay speaking volunteers who can serve as primary liaisons with our performers, and can help manage our events.
For more information, or expression of your interest in volunteering, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Help Us Document
Pusaka’s mission is to create a documentary archive and easily accessible information, and your contribution can help us fulfill that mission! Share pictures taken at our events, or write ups following our events with us through social media. Tag us on Twitter using the performance hashtag (eg, #Dabus, #MainPuteri, etc); tag us on Facebook using the handle @Pusaka.
Additionally, if you come across research on our performance traditions, or have a research interest of your own you would like to explore, feel free to talk to us about it, and we can figure out a way to help you do it!
